Beating the bounds of Shoreham Parish Part 2

About nine months ago, we beat half the bounds of Shoreham. Now we trace the western boundaries of the parish, where the hills are less steep and the walk is generally less demanding. We pass the hop garden at Castle Farm and have coffee high up in Lullingstone Country Park before making our way to the lunch stop at Well Hill. We pass through Pascalls Wood and Hollows Wood to Chelsfield and skirt Badgers Mount on our way back.

The pace will be unhurried, about 2mph, so we have time to enjoy the countryside - sweeping parkland and woodland tracks with veteran trees and coppicing burnished with early autumn colour. There's a hint of the urban too, with glimpses of the London skyline - and at points, the noise of the motorway impinges on the rural landscape as we cross over and under the M25.
