Biggin Hill - 4 February 2026 (10.5 miles)

We then made our way through Jewels Wood, heading to a pit stop at the beautifully maintained St Leonard’s Church in Chelsham. Refreshed and ready for more, we continued southeast towards Tatsfield, sun-washed and braced for a few more ascents.

True to form, all ramblers tackled them admirably, with only the tiniest hint of grumbling.

Lunch was a sunny picnic delight outside Ye Olde Ship in Tatsfield, though some chose the comfort of the pub for a drink. Re-energised, we set off back towards Biggin Hill, with a few more ascents thrown in for good measure around South Street. And, of course, no walk would be complete without a little challenge at the end - boot-hungry mud near Aperfield made its appearance, but all ramblers conquered it with determination and returned safely to the start point.

A big thank you to everyone who joined the walk, to Stephen for back-marking, and to Pat and Kevin for helping with the recce’s. It was also wonderful to welcome back our “official” photographer, Alice.
