Trottiscliffe - 8 March 2026 (5.5 miles)

A Short but Varied Walk from Trottiscliffe - 5.5 miles Sunday, 8th March Promises, promises… Taking a leaf out of the propaganda machine of the former German Democratic Republic which manipulated weather forecasts to make sure people showed up for official celebrations, I put sunny pictures on the Sevenoaks Ramblers website to advertise my walk today. Alas, there were no wide-reaching views from the NDW and there was plenty of mud underfoot. This did not deter a happy band of 18 walkers to come to Trottiscliffe in the hope that the fog would lift. It did not, but it was good to see some old friends and a number of new faces from neighbouring Ramblers groups. The sheep did not seem to mind the lack of visibility, so we decided not to do so either.
